For more than 50 years, the Pythagoras Greek School of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church has taught language, history, culture, and tradition to many students. Our Saturday Greek School Program encompasses all aspects of Greek language, history, culture, and tradition. Our GSL (Greek as a Second Language) Program is for students with limited or no previous knowledge of the Greek language.
Learning a language is not a set of grammar rules. Language comes as a result of learning and discussing the history, the culture, and the tradition. Therefore, our highly educated staff follows the curriculum set forth by the University of Crete, EDIAMME program. The success of our program begins with motivation and inspiration. Our staff is passionate and enthusiastic for Greek language and tradition. This passion and enthusiasm is evident in each lesson. With constant motivation and inspiration, our students become confident in their ability to learn and be successful in speaking, reading, and writing the Greek language. The goal is to assist all of our students in obtaining a better understanding of the everyday Modern Greek language and culture. Through dialogue, reading, writing, vocabulary, and other activities, are truly being brought closer to their Greek heritage. We strongly believe that Greek school is an important investment that parents make in their childrens' future. Please contact the School Director, Georgia Katsis for more information or submit our Registration Form to enroll your children today!
