847-963-9163

PADS provides food and shelter to homeless people from October through April 30 of each year. Volunteers prepare and serve the meals, and offer support in a safe environment. Homelessness is not just a reality in the inner city of Chicago. It exists in suburban neighborhoods as well and it touches adults and children alike. People become homeless due to job loss, illness, depression and for many other reasons. In an effort to minimize the impact on those affected, P.A.D.S. was established as a safety net to care for those who have no home. Individuals are provided a hot dinner meal, a bed, breakfast and a packed lunch.

St. John’s outreach: 45 meals, and 30-40 volunteers from teenagers to the elderly participate.

Due to the lack of available space, there are 5 to 10 families waiting to enter the program at any given time. WINGS provides all the shelter, food, hours of guidance and the support necessary to give these women back their lives and their dignity, and to assist them on their path to self-sufficiency.
