The YAL ministry welcomes all young adults between the ages of 18 and 35. MissionThe goal of YAL is to cultivate and educate our young adults and lead them to the fullness of the Faith and likeness of God by utilizing the four circles of Christian living: Worship, Witness, Service, and Fellowship. Young adults are integrated into the life of the Chruch, enabling them to become active members of the body of Christ.
Through various activities, our young people can examine different aspects of their Orthodox faith and have the opportunity to meet other young members of the parish of St. John the Baptist and the Metropolis of Chicago. In addition to religious teachings through monthly meetings, there are social activities, outings and trips tht contribute to and build lasting friendships.
Annual YAL EventsReal Break Sponsored by the OCF (Orthodox Christian Fellowship), Real Break allows college students to participate in short term mission trips during their spring break to places like Guatemala, Mexico and New York's St. Basil's Academy.
College Conference Also sponsored by OCF, hundreds of college students and young adults gather at the Antiochian Village and St. Nicholas Ranch in Dunlap, California for a week of Christian fellowship and education.
