Acolytes

All boys ages 10 and up until marriage are welcomed to serve as acolytes in the sacred altar.

Requirements

The word acolyte comes from the Greek word "akolouthos" and means attendant or follower.  During the Divine Liturgy, the acolytes represent the angels that surround Christ.  They surround the parish priest and aid him with various duties and responsibilities.  As angels are always ready to serve Christ, our acolytes should also be ready to serve in silence and with excellent behavior.

Join us!

It is a special honor to be an acolyte and serve in the Altar, the most sacred area of the church.  You can be an acolyte too!  Please contact Father Alexander to find out more.
