COVID-19 Relief Food Drive
St. John the Baptist Parish and Philoptochos request contributions to a Food Drive, to be dropped off at church on Saturday, May 30, from 10 am - 2 pm. (All donations will support the Metropolis's "Orthodox Store" ministry, the Des Plaines Food Pantry, and our own parishioners in need.) Click on the link below for complete information.
Graduate Sunday 2020
The parish of St. John the Baptist would like to honor your Graduates!
Although we will not be in church together this year, we will be recognizing the accomplishments of our graduates on Sunday, June 14 after Divine Liturgy and also via email and on our website. Click on the link below by May 30 to submit your information.

Mother's Day 2020 (1 of 2)
Dear St. John the Baptist family,
Traditionally, on Mother’s Day, our church & chapel are filled with family & friends coming together to pray & honor their mothers. We'd embrace our mothers, grandmothers & godmothers with prayers, love & a flower joyfully handed to them by one of our GOYAns.
Although we're not able to be together in our church this year, we still choose to honor each of a special and unique way. The north wall of our chapel is adorned with icons of women saints.
Mother's Day 2020 (2 of 2)
To honor them and you, we have placed flowers in front of each and we have placed a choir of women saints in the pews. May Panagia and the saints guide and protect our mothers! Please know that we are thinking of all of you.

Who is St. Andrew of Crete and What is the Great Canon?
As we approach the 5th Sunday of Great Lent, we have an opportunity to learn about and appreciate St Andrew of Crete, and his Great Penitential Canon, which is recited this Thursday. We will be live streaming this service at 6pm to your little church in your home this week. Join us as we continue to live stream Divine services of the Orthodox Church regularly.
